- Fidel gives a speech at the Ceremony for the 75th Anniversary of the Execution of the Eight Students of Medicine. His words were later published in the Avance Criollo newspaper. His words savagely attack the government of the time. He says: “this government is worse than the previous ones; it has killed the faith of an entire people.”
