Cuba denounces US hostility despite Covid-19 crisis

The United States intensified its blockade policy against Cuba despite the effects of the Covid-19 on the Caribbean island, a diplomatic source said on Monday in this capital.

The Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of State, Johana Tablada, subscribed to it on her Twitter account.

The official wrote that President Donald Trump's government took advantage of the difficulties of the pandemic 'to launch 43 new inhumane measures against Cuba in 2020.'

Tablada stressed that the purpose is to attack the livelihoods of 11 million Cubans, including the supply of fuel. They should know that we will never forget that, wrote the diplomat.

So far this year, Washington has reinforced the persecution of Cuban sources of income and has sought to cut off the supply of energy, among other coercive measures that, according to Havana, are intended to suffocate the island.

'They shot to kill,' said President Miguel Diaz-Canel regarding the harassment of his country by US authorities.
